Yaoundé is the capital of Cameroon, located in the south-central part of the country on a hilly plateau. With approximately 4.1 million residents, it serves as the political and administrative center while Douala remains the economic hub and largest city.
Known as the "City of Seven Hills," Yaoundé offers a cooler climate than coastal areas due to its elevation. The city hosts universities, research institutions, and international organizations.
