Valletta is the capital of Malta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world. 📜 History

The Knights of St. John built Valletta after their 1565 victory against the Ottoman siege. The planned city was designed by Francesco Laparelli. Construction began in 1566. Successive Grand Masters enriched the city with Baroque architecture.

Napoleon expelled the Knights in 1798. British rule (1800-1964) followed. WWII bombing devastated parts of the city. Independence brought new role as national capital. Today Valletta shines—UNESCO heritage, Baroque beauty, and Malta's cultural heart.
