Teyateyaneng (locally called "TY") is the capital of Berea District in Lesotho, known as the country's handicraft center. With approximately 75,000 residents in the district, this town north of Maseru is famous for traditional Basotho crafts including woven tapestries, pottery, and grass hats. The name means "place of quick sands" in Sesotho.
