📜 History

During the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade, the Port of Cavite was a major departure point for Spanish galleons. It was fondly called "Ciudad de Oro Macizo" (City of Solid Gold).

Cavite City served as the provincial capital from 1614 until 1954, when the capital moved to Trece Martires. The province was a center of revolutionary activity against Spanish rule.
