📖 About Cavite

Cavite is the most populous province in the Philippines and the second most densely populated. Located in the CALABARZON region just south of Metro Manila, it has become one of the country's major industrial and residential hubs.

Known as the "Historical Capital of the Philippines," Cavite played a crucial role in the Philippine Revolution. Philippine Independence Day is celebrated every June 12 in Kawit, where General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed independence in 1898.

The province combines rich historical heritage with rapid modernization, featuring industrial estates, residential developments, and expanding transportation infrastructure.

📜 History

During the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade, the Port of Cavite was a major departure point for Spanish galleons. It was fondly called "Ciudad de Oro Macizo" (City of Solid Gold).

Cavite City served as the provincial capital from 1614 until 1954, when the capital moved to Trece Martires. The province was a center of revolutionary activity against Spanish rule.

Today, Cavite balances its rich revolutionary heritage with modern development, serving as a gateway to Tagaytay and southern Luzon while maintaining its historical significance.
